Quando o verbo é essencial para entendermos o significado da sentença, dizemos que ele é verbo principal. Portanto, o verbo have em inglês será verbo principal quando ele for fundamental para que a sentença faça sentido.

Já como verbo auxiliar, have servirá para auxiliar (ajudar) na formação de outros tempos verbais: os perfect tenses.
