Some words commonly used to show similarities:

- Like

- Both

- Similarly

Like

- is a preposition

- is followed by a noun/phrase

- is not followed by a clause (subject + verb)

ex: Like Sadie, Lucy is musically gifted.

Like Sadie, who is a talented guitarist, Lucy is musically gifted.
