Because: : é usado para expressar os resultados esperados. (a) Porque o tempo estava frio, não fui nadar.	Because: is used to express expected results. (a)    Because the weather was cold, I didn’t go swimming.
Even though: é usado para expressar resultados inesperados. (b) Embora o tempo estivesse frio, fui nadar.	Even though: is used to express unexpected results. (b)   Even though the weather was cold, I went swimming.
NOTA: Como because, even though apresentam uma cláusula de advérbio. (c) Porque eu não estava cansado, não fui para a cama. (d) (d) Mesmo que eu não estivesse cansada, fui para a cama.	NOTE: Like because, even though introduces an adverb clause. (c)    Because I wasn’t tired, I didn’t go to bed. (d)   (d) Even though I wasn’t tired, I went to bed.

2	Embora estivesse escuro, dia nublado, coloquei meus óculos de sol.	Even though it was dark, cloudy day, I put on my sunglasses.
3	Mesmo que Mira tenha um resfriado, ela se sente bem.	Even though Mira has a cold, she feels okay.
4	Porque o gás é tão caro, eu evito dirigir meu carro muito.	Because gas is so expensive, I avoid driving my car a lot.
5	Tim está em boa forma fisicamente mesmo que ele não faça muito exercício.	Tim’s in good shape physically even though he doesn’t get much exercise.
6	Barry está em boa forma fisicamente porque ele faz muito exercício.	Barry’s in good shape physically because he gets a lot of exercise.
